The story you wear
In Greek mythology, Persephone’s life is divided between the underworld and the world above. After Hades takes her below, her mother, Demeter, withholds the earth’s fertility in grief. Their reunion allows life to flourish again, but the pomegranate Persephone has eaten binds her to return to the underworld for part of each year.
Queen of the Returning Spring brings these two worlds together. The pomegranate recalls her connection to the realm of the dead, while the flowers speak of her homecoming and the return of growth. Both belong to her story.
